In the Latin languages, French Spanish, Portuguese and especially Italian contain Greek words to the tune of about 30% of their total lexical entries. Latin and Greek have also entered most Slavic, Germanic and Altaic languages, in Europe and elsewhere.
Finally there is also the commonality that all Indo-European languages share in the basic make up of their languages, and not only in the multitude of common words (not including the loanwords) but also in sentence formation, syntax, grammar. This goes beyond Europe, of course, into Asia.
The problem with many ultra-nationalist pseudo-scientists from Skopje is that they are disregarding these basic truths and facts and they create an ultra-nationalist parallel universe propagating nationalist fables about a mythical connection between the modern Salvomacedonians whose language came with them sometime around the 7th century AD, and the Ancient Macedonians who, were most definitely Hellenic in speech.
Aleksandar Donski, Tendov and Boshevski, Iliov and others are pushing the limits of ludicrous with their pronouncements and they are an embarrassment to serious Slavomacedonian scientists who are lost and shouted down in the Bucephalean circus the Skopje government has created.M.
